Heidi and Jeff ~ Engaged

Wednesday, October 17, 2012

I made a trip home to New York in September and my wonderful friend Heidi and her fiance Jeff, offered to let Miss. Raegan and I stay with them. It was such a great time since we both have brand new babies that are only 6 days apart! Heidi and Jeff are deep in the middle of planning their wedding and I offered to do a quick engagement session. I don't think fun describes of the afternoon we had wandering around in the grapes on Jeff's property. So with the sweet smell of Concord Grapes in the air, we handed the babies to Jeff's Mom and headed on out. Here are a few shots of our day.

I had such a great time with you two! Congratulations!

Beloved Session ~ The Platts ~ 40 Years Together

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Yesterday I got to spend my afternoon with this wonderful couple. Let's start from the beginning. Their daughter Sarah is a friend of a friend. She emailed me to tell me her parents would be here in San Francisco for their Anniversary and that she is interested in having their photographs taken. I was thrilled!
I met with Ray and Judy at Union Square and we instantly hit it off. There was a huge gathering of CAL students in the center of Union Square and a blockade around the Christmas Tree (you read that right, the Christmas Tree is already up!). Since there would be no pictures worth it there we wondered over to this alleyway that I have been eying since I moved here. We walked down a block and found beautiful brick walls and a cute cafe had tables and chairs set up
I asked them when the last time they had photos taken, Judy laughed and said "Our Wedding?". They both chuckled and then she continued "there were always cameras around, but we haven't had actual photos taken. Sarah really wanted us to have them done, so I gave in." And I'm glad they did!

When I asked them what is the secret to a successful marriage Judy said without hesitation "Patience!" then laughed a little and said "Compromise." Ray laughed at that one. I could clearly see that their secret is laughter. These two keep each other laughing, and I think that is the most incredible gift they can give each other.
Thank you for spending part of your vacation with me! I wish you many more years of laughter!
